Deep in the Black Shroud, where the canopy closes overhead and the light filters down in thin, broken shafts, a well-kept garden has no business being as bright as it is.
The grounds are modest in size but immaculately maintained. Stone paths with smooth river-worn rock that catches the light. Nothing here is overgrown. Nothing leans or sprawls without direction. The whole space looks well-tended.

The building itself, previously owned by one of the few Gridanian nobility, has been kept as it was.
Walls that have taken on the colour of old bark over the years, until it is difficult to say where the building ends and the Shroud begins. The roof is weighted down by moss, and along the ridgeline, small pale flowers bloom in the cracks between the tiles.
A hand-painted sign above the door reads Mystica Lunae in clean lettering, deep blue ink on lacquered black wood, a crescent moon pressed into the corner.The door itself is heavy dark wood with a brass handle worn smooth from use. On either side of the doorframe, shallow shelves have been built into the exterior wall and covered with a slim glass front, a small rotating display of wares that changes biweekly.

The door opens inward, and the first thing that reaches you is the smell of dried herbs, polished wood, old books, and a variety of sweet-smelling concoctions.
The interior is clean, despite the exterior of the building. The surfaces are clear, the shelving is organised, and the floor is swept. Every item has a place. Every label faces outward.

Some of the most interesting texts in the Emporium didn't come through conventional channels. These are available by enquiry, described accurately, and sold to people who seem like they'll treat them with appropriate care.
✶Curiosities✶
✶ The Fog Jar A wide-mouthed sealed jar containing what appears to be ordinary fog. Open it and the fog spills out slowly, covering the floor of the immediate area in a thin layer that lingers for about ten minutes before dissipating. Completely harmless. Extremely atmospheric. Popular purchase for venue owners and people with a flair for the dramatic.✶ The Extra Card A single Arcana card in a sealed sleeve. It does not match any known deck edition — Sharlayan, Ishgardian, or otherwise. The illustration changes depending on the light. In candlelight it shows one thing. In daylight another. In complete darkness it has been described as showing something that made the viewer put it down immediately. Sold as-is.
✶ The Slow Hourglass An hourglass in which the sand falls upward slowly, against all reason. It has been examined by two separate aetherologists. Both left more confused than they arrived.For display purposes only. Please do not shake it.✶ The Cold Locket A plain silver locket that is always cold to the touch regardless of temperature or how long it is held. Opening it reveals a tiny mirror on one side and an empty portrait frame on the other. The mirror does not reflect the person holding it. It reflects the same empty room every time. The room is not one anyone has been able to identify.
✶The mammets✶
The shop employs many mammets of Sharlayan design. Some are of older models, others are relatively new but with slight deformities.There are ones that are very distinct!
Tux-Wearing Mammet
Seemingly the main mammet out of the bunch. It's always sporting a tuxedo with a small dark red bowtie.It somehow knows when it's needed and appears where it wasn't seconds ago.Has violent tendencies, especially against doors. It'll do what's asked of it with an attitude; if looked at long enough, one might sense an unbridled, furious glint in its eyes. Customers beware.It takes care of cleaning and maintaining the shop, replacing stock, and returning misplaced items, as well as other duties.
Frilly Dress Mammet
Always wearing a frilly dress of different colors every day. Silent and keeps to the botanical section of the shop.When asked for help outside of its chosen area, it will lead the customer to another mammet before promptly returning.The Tux Mammet's violent tendencies are significantly less when Frilly is around.

Despite the staff's reassurances, customers might notice a small creature of mammet size keeping to the shadows.Once seen it'll skitter away to another shadowy corner.
